Experienced writer and editor seeking opportunities to enhance engagement and foster connections through effective management, seamless execution, and undeniably clever writing.
With a passion for all-things creative, I’ve project managed a creative team across all platforms for social media, graphic design, and web. Most recently, my job expanded to include hosting, producing, and directing a weekly sermon recap podcast, Behind & Beyond.
My passion is rooted in the power of the well-written word. I understand how editing dictates emotion and ultimately elicits a response. As a writer, I hold words and their presentation in the highest regard. As a human being, I value the connection between people and their stories.
I graduated early from Auburn University summa cum laude with a degree in journalism. I've worked on the editorial team at Modern Luxury in Atlanta, publishing 10+ articles to a combined audience of over 16 million. Through my time in the editorial world, I worked with editors and copywriters to create excellent copy on fast-paced deadlines, learning firsthand the integral importance of consistency and accuracy.
I would love to connect with you and see what stories we can tell together!
Rebekah
Published to a combined audience of 13+ million in Modern Luxury’s in-house magazines: JEZEBEL, The Atlantan, Interiors Atlanta, Weddings Atlanta, and Modern Luxury Medicine + Doctors
Lead copy editor & contributing writer for 10-week study written and published at North Way Christian Community Church for congregation of over 7,000
Compiled and edited all content from 10 contributing authors for Auburn Community Church’s first ever devotional book content to congregation of over 5,000
Season 3 of Behind & Beyond dives deeper into our sermon series on the book of Esther. I kept our branding consistent with our refreshed background and editing style, featuring the new intro style segment to give viewers a brief overview of what to expect.
For marketing, I’ve continued to cut and produce short video segments to promote on Instagram and YouTube shorts. Utilizing pithy titles and engaging copy has yielded growth in our channel’s online presence from 6k to 20k.
After a successful Season 1 of Behind & Beyond, I creative directed a new vision for the podcast with a cleaner, more modern look and casual style. I altered the editing format to include a beginning intro from myself giving an overview of the episode to come. This change allows for the podcast to flow more like an easy conversation, thus creating a more enjoyable experience for the listener.
For social media marketing, I revamped our Instagram Reels design with custom covers that feature an enticing title and thumbnail to grow engagement.
During my time as Creative Communications Assistant Director, I was asked to host, produce, and creative direct a new podcast series, Behind & Beyond. Each week, I prepped interview questions for that week’s guests to discuss the sermon they taught. I lead set design aesthetics, branding concepts, and all social media marketing and implementation to grow our viewership across all digital channels.
